Easter Egg Scramble
On the same day as our 2005 Northshore Street Scramble, we offered a special Easter egg hunt designed for kids up to age 12: Easter Egg Scramble. Participants received a special map of the park showing the locations of colorful cardboard egg markers. At each marker was a paper punch. Find your way to as many markers as you can and punch your map to prove you were there.
Adult help was allowed. Everyone who found at least one marker got a non-candy prize at the end. Older kids could compete to find all the markers in the shortest amount of time.
This was a nice change of pace from the frantic candy-grab format. Everyone had a chance to find all the egg markers, and everyone won. Plus, kids got a chance to practice map reading skills.
- Location: Kenmore Rhododendron Park, 6910 NE 170th St., Kenmore
- Two start times available: 11:45 a.m. and 1:15 p.m.
- Cost: $3 per participant, payable on event day only (no charge for older people who are helping young children)
- Soup and sandwich lunch before or after: $2 per participant
Street Scramble participants: Note that the Easter Egg Scramble start times are 15 minutes after each Street Scramble finish. This gives your family something to do while we compute Street Scramble results and prepare awards. As usual, your lunch is included in your Street Scramble registration -- you do not need to pay $2 extra.
