Meridian Geographics has volunteer and paid opportunities to help support our services and events, including Street Scramble.
We have a variety of part-time jobs, large and small, that are available to someone with the needed skills and interest. Compensation depends on qualifications and scope of the work.
Particular areas of opportunity include:
- key day-of-event staff positions
- business operation/management
- graphic and web design
- marketing and publicity
- website building and maintenance
- data entry and processing
- equipment maintenance
- participant communication and registration
- volunteer recruitment and care
- course design
- sponsorship
- sales of our events and services
Some work takes place at event sites or at the Meridian Geographics office in Magnuson Park, but much of it can be done from any location.
Qualifications vary by role, and include: excellent writing and communication skills; ability to work efficiently and independently; ability to work well alongside others; ability to direct others; ability to handle uncertain and chaotic situations with humor and grace; interest in and familiarity with recreational events, particularly MerGeo events; interest/background in marketing; outgoing personality; skills in HTML, programming, MS Excel, Word, Publisher, Photoshop or similar software; skills in web design and/or maintenance; graphic design skills; and experience in grant writing and/or sponsor relations.
