Tyler's Route
I managed to cover 10.5 miles in the 90-minute foot event, scoring 360 points. I think I could have done a little better if I'd done a few things differently. For instance, heading from control 37 to control 36, I decided to take the green path marked on the map. I thought, for some reason, that I could veer off it and follow the fence line on the west side of the water towers up to the road. I ended up staring at someone's back fence and had to backtrack. I carried on well after that, but examining my map later, I think I could have scored higher if I'd gone to control 42 and skipped controls 16, 14, 13, and 15. I could have picked up controls 11 and 12 on my way back to the finish, giving me 20 additional points over a similar distance. (For those following along on their map, that would have been 34, 42, 33, 21, 11, 12, 17, finish instead of 34, 21, 33, 16, 14, 13, 15, 17, finish. I might even have had time to pick up 18.)
