Weathervanes - chicken or whale?

2008 Gig Harbor Street Scramble
As we were doing the scoring we noticed several people got the weathervane question wrong and ALL the wog answers were chicken.
We asked several teams and every single person said that it was very obvious, it was 100% a whale (even a 3 year old knew it!) and there wasn't anything confusing. However we didn't manage to find anyone who got it wrong to talk to.
So did any of the folk who frequent in here notice anything ambiguous about the location? Was there another vane with a chicken on top? Did people just guess (chicken is the obvious guess I suppose)? Did any of you visit and see a chicken?
Note that with Gig Harbor being a community event we saw many more wrong answers and guesses than normal.
weather vane
The road we entered to go to the house with the whale weather vane had a chicken weather vane at the W house on the corner. We questioned whether that was the correct one, but knew from the map it could not be, so continued on till we found the correct house.
