REACH Hi-Liters Route
http://connect.garmin.com/activity/297782
25.3 km, 870 points (all but 51-46-21-11-13)
came in at exactly 3 hours
I forgot to turn my GPS on until about 8 minutes in, so there's about 1.4 km at the beginning not included in the Garmin Connect page. I also forgot to turn off the timer at the end. Also remember that the online software is a bit glitchy with climb and the charts. The tracklog is correct, however.
Gasworks CP's first, which was fun seeing the crowd turn and look at the oncoming herd of orange-vested, map-carrying runners. I remember I jumped over a guys blanket, and he started to yell at me until he realized that I didn't touch anything.
I think everyone and their dog got tricked by 27 (except for Silent Xylophones). Lemonade stand at #33, and I hear that one of the kids was giving out wrong answers. "It's 9!" (The answer was really 5).
We were within seconds of getting stuck on the far side of the U Bridge after getting 55. That was pretty awesome that we made it. Cut through campus to get to 56. Teriyaki Donut got here just as we did. Through Ravenna Park on the way to 45. A bike team at #45 was convinced that Scott and I were cheating with some sort of helicopter or something...
37-36-52 were on my home turf, so those were nice and easy. Then over to 43. We decided skip #21 because of time. We should have taken the Aurora Bridge (see discussion on Teriyaki Donut's report). Hit the Fremont Bridge with 33 minutes to go. Went up the steepest hill in SS history, then down to Lake Union to the kayak. Hit the Fremont Bridge again with 9 minutes to go. We had to skip 11 and 13 at the end, and we got in just at the bell.
I figure that another 6-7 minutes, and we could have cleared everything except the two far north.
