This was probably the best we have ever done at a Night & Day or Street Scramble. Heidi came up with a great route plan and we navigated and paced ourselves well. We also used camel backs for the first time. We used a new strategy to plan and measure our route. First, we placed the map on a piece of cardboard and put pushpins at each checkpoint. Then we stretched a pre-measured length of string between the points. This allowed very quick measuring of different route possibilities and worked really well. It allowed us to quickly see that 101, 105, 74 and the Ballard/Magnolia checkpoints were not worth the distance. 82 was also not really worth the distance or the climb so but by running our loop to the south first we left it until the end. If we had 30 minutes left at 35, we would go for it. We had 40 minutes at 35 so we went for 82 and finished with 6 minutes to spare. We had a little trouble with some of the cryptic clues, especially 54 (sasquatch) and 81 (wooden boats) and had a little trouble locating the answers at 55 (war memorial), 66 (rose garden), and 47 (fountain).
